Documentary Film Screening: Profiled by Kathleen Foster

Join the Chicago Torture Justice Center for a free film screening and discussion. Kathleen Foster’s “Profiled” knits the stories of mothers of Black and Latinx youth murdered by the NYPD into a powerful indictment of racial profiling and police brutality. The film places these stories within a historical context of the roots of racism in the U.S.

The screening will be followed by a discussion about police violence in Chicago and the power of collective narrative toward healing and justice. Speakers:

Stephanie Crumpton (McCormick Theological Seminary)
Pilar Riaño-Alcalá (University of British Columbia)
Kristiana Rae Colón (#Let Us Breathe Collective)

Unfortunately, Ollie Hammonds is no longer able to participate in the panel. We are extremely lucky to be joined instead by female Burge torture survivor, La Tanya Sublett. Join us!
