On May 18th, 2018, the Chicago Torture Justice Center and Chicago Torture Justice Memorials held a joint celebration of three incredible occasions – the one year anniversary of the Chicago Torture Justice Center, the three year anniversary of the passage of the reparations ordinance, and Mother’s Day. The celebration lifted up and payed tribute to the mothers of the movement and acknowledged the roles they’ve played in supporting loved ones while leading the charge for justice for police torture survivors. Please enjoy and share this beautiful video recap of our event! Special thanks to Sensitive Visuals for capturing the beautiful evening.

The Chicago Torture Justice Center seeks to address the traumas of police violence and institutionalized racism through access to healing and wellness services, trauma-informed resources, and community connection. The Center is a part of and supports a movement to end all forms of police violence.
