A 2024 wall calendar in collaboration with writers, poets, and artists inside Illinois Department of Corrections. Illustrations by Chicago-based maker aidan anne frierson.
This calendar features words and art from community members inside the Illinois Department of Corrections. The Chicago Torture Justice Center corresponds with over 100 incarcerated individuals through a monthly newsletter. The newsletter is currently the only monthly publication sent into IDOC facilities and features updates about what’s happening at CTJC, contributions from community members inside, news about prisons and the legal system, and healing practices. Most of the featured art in the calendar were originally sent as submissions for the newsletter.
