Resourcing our work
We are so grateful for our community!
From the collective dreaming and organizing that opened the Center, we have been privileged to be held in and sustained in many ways by a deeply loving community.
We appreciate all financial gifts with deep gratitude and were supported by the generosity of more than 2,000 individual donors in 2020! Contributions of any amount make our work possible, and there are 2 ways to give. Click below to make a one-time or recurring donation as a general contribution, or to our Survivor Repair Fund.
Radical Resourcing
We know that there are endless ways we can show up for each other. At the Center, we have been supported by community members who have resourced us in creative and necessary ways, from food to nourish us to the gift of documenting our work. We think about this as radical resourcing, and you can read more about it here.

More about us:
The Chicago Torture Justice Center (CTJC) opened its doors in May 2017 and has been incorporated with the State of Illinois since December 2015. Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago is currently our fiscal sponsor, and we received 501(c)(3) status in 2018. Our work is supported in part by the Chicago Department of Public Health, and we are part of the Access to Justice (A2J) Network as a Community Navigators site. The rest of our resourcing can be attributed to grants and donations from our powerful community.
